The office building and property at 320 Walnut Street was acquired by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in November
1996 for $1.3 million from Binswanger Real Estate Management.
The square footage of the property is 86,000 square feet. The building has a basement, six floors, and a roof-top
area.
Site bequeathed to the Society of Friends of Philadelphia by John Martin in 1713.
Society of Friends' Almshouse built on site in 1729.
Almshouse replaced by three story business building in 1841.
Maryland Casualty Company purchased site in 1924; current building dates from 1929.
Most recently, a multi-tenanted office building managed by Binswanger Real Estate Management.
Property is adjacent to Old Saint Joseph's Church, Willings Alley, founded in 1733.
Property is near Old Saint Mary's Church, 246 S. 4th Street, founded in 1763, the first cathedral
of the diocese of Philadelphia.
